3.2.3 Lamination. The stretch cloth shall be laminated to the different
foam thicknesses as follows:
(a)
1/4 inch thick foam, which has two cut surfaces, stretch cloth
laminated to both sides.
(b)
1/4 inch thick foam, which has one cut surface and one skin
surface, stretch cloth laminated to cut surface side.
(c)
1/8 inch thick foam, which has two cut surfaces, stretch cloth
laminated to one cut surface. The cloth shall be laminated to
the chloroprene foam by an adhesive or other process which con-
forms to the physical requirements of the laminated foam material.
The adhesive used shall be non-toxic, non-irritant and free from
objectionable odor. The fabric backed (laminated) side shall be
smooth and free of wrinkles or puckers and show no sign of block-
ing, tackiness or adhesive strike-through when tested as specified
in 4.6.1.
3.2.3.1 Laminated foam. The finished laminated foam material shall conform
to table III when tested as specified in 4.6.1.

3.2.4 Adhesive cement. The cement used to seal the seams and reinforce-
ment pieces shall be chloroprene compound.
3.2.5 Cemented seams. The abutted and cemented seams (without reinforce-
ment pieces) shall have an initial and after aging minimum breaking strength of
35 pounds per 2 inches when tested as specified in 4.6.1.
3.2.6 Reinforced seams. The abutted and cemented seams reinforced with
1/8 inch foam shall have an initial and after aging minimum adhesion of 5.0
pounds per inch when tested as specified in 4.6.1.
3.2.7 Fused seams. The abutted and cemented seams reinforced with seal
tape shall have an initial and after aging minimum adhesion of 10.0 pounds per
inch when tested as specified in 4.6.1.
